Merry Christmas to all of you. This is such a wonderful time of year, yet it can be the hardest on our children. If you have some special way you have to make it easier on our kids please share that with us all. One of the things we do is have their families come to our home to have dinner.(of course you do have to make sure it will be safe for all) We have had some very happy dinners. Bless you all for what you do and a huge blessing goes out to all of YOUR children for sharing their family with others!

Almost all of our foster children were babies, so our concern wasn't so much for helping them adjust at Christmas, but rather in helping their families not be as sad to be without their child. I made them special items as Christmas gifts, such as a scrapbook of the child, or a photo quilt with photos of the child. We still do this for our twins' birth family every year on Christmas, and sometimes on Easter, where we send them a package with artwork the twins made, lots of photos of the twins, sometimes home movies, sometimes the twins choose to write letters to them, etc. Their birth family usually reciprocates, and sends the twins a Christmas package with presents and cards and sometimes photos, especially if the twins request pictures.
